Do you believe that the death penalty is an acceptable form of punishment for murder?

I do not believe in the death penalty for many reasons. When a person murders, they are taking a life from this world, which is the most horrid and horrific act a person can do. For this reason, I believe that it is actually more kind to let them take the easy way out and kill them. I would prefer to sentence a murder to rot in jail for the rest of his life with no hope for any parole or escape. I would of course take away any rights to books, televisions, and media because they do not deserve these materials. Years upon years of nothing but facing a wall and thinking about what they did would be the worst punishment of all.

In addition, I believe that the death penalty makes the executioner a murderer. No child grows up and wants to become an executioner, and execution is just a "legal" way of murdering a person for the sake of punishment.

Do you believe the saying "Once a cheater, always a cheater"?

I do believe that if someone has cheated in the past, they will repeat the behavior. Furthermore, I do not believe that they are trust worthy in other aspects of their life. If a person has lied and cheated before, it is almost like a drug or alcohol addiction. When a person is missing something in their life, or feeling down on themselves, they will turn to what they do when they are depressed. And if someone turns to cheating in their lowest moment, than they will return to that pattern when they have a low moment in the future. For this reason, I would never vote for a President that had cheated on his (or her) spouse. I believe that if a President would lie to their spouse, how much more would they lie to a country full of people that they have only committed 4 years of their life too... when their wedding vows were for life. What do you think? Why or why not?

Should children be allowed on reality TV shows?

I think that shows like Jon and Kate plus 8 exploit children. Their children will have to face the media (which has turned pretty ugly) for many years to come, and they will always be known as the children who had the parents with a nasty public divorce. Because of this, I do not believe that children should be allowed on reality TV shows about their families. What do you think? Why or why not?

Is it ok to overeat during the holidays?

I personally find it difficult to eat too much on Thanksgiving. I think that if you want to eat more food, especially comfort food around the holidays, when throughout the year you eat a healthy and balanced meal.. I think it is fine to indulge over the holidays. But if you have a tendency to overeat or are already unhealthy I think that you should refrain from overeating during the holidays because your health should be your first priority. What do you think? Do you overeat during the holidays? Why or why not?

Should we eat organic foods although they are more expensive?

In today's economy it is difficult for many families just to put food on the table.. let alone purchasing products that are organic (and more expensive). But, when I heard Jillian from The Biggest Loser on The Dr.s the other day I realized that my health is much more important to me than a few extra dollars. She said that inorganic chickens are raised to eat corn that is filled with arsenic to kill bugs, and hormones to plump the chickens up. We in turn, are ingesting those ingredients. We wonder why American's are getting fatter and fatter as a whole... yes we do have a problem with portion control, but when the food we are ingesting was plumped up with hormones, are we not also ingesting those hormones... We don't know how these hormones are affecting us. Not to mention the pesticides and the genetic alteration of fruits and vegetables. These days a tomato is not the same tomato our grandparents ate... So what do you think? Do you think that you should eat organic foods, or are inorganic foods ok? Why or why not?

Talkable Topics for Today

To spank or not to spank?

Is it ok to make jokes about religion?

And here is another talkable topic for today that I am posting on the blog... feel free to visit myLot and respond!

I am a Christian and believe that all people are beautiful, wonderful, and loved by God... but the Bible does express that gay marriage is wrong. I believe that as a Christian first, and an American second, that gay people should have the right... (not what you expected, but read on:) to have something like marriage. I really feel like gay people do not "choose" to be gay, and that they are wired that way. They all know what the Bible says and do have the choice to live however they choose. I also think that as an American they deserve the same rights that opposite gender couples get when they are married... but I feel like this is more a battle of semantics than anything else for me. "Marriage" can be a term between opposite gender couples that are committed for life, and we can just create a new term for a committed life long relationship between same gender. That way marriage is still "marriage" and same gender people will receive the rights they deserve as well, and have their own special term that opposite gender couples can't have:)
What do you think, and how do you feel about this? I would love to hear!
